This Sunday we move into the second half of our 4 part series on God,
Justice, and Eternity, as we turn our focus to heaven. The following
weekend we'll set aside time for your questions on the entire
mini-series, hell and heaven. So jot down your questions now so that
you remember them. You can also send them to us now via email, so that
you don't forget, at
.
...I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything
in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited
resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.
Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him.
Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may
you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide,
how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the
love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you
will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that
comes from God. (Ephesians 3:14-19)
Hey, Grace’rs,
I was meeting with a fellow Grace’r the other day. He was telling me
the story of his father- a man who’s been a life-long churchgoer. He
remembers his father saying something like this one day:
This weekend we get out of Hell and move into Heaven. It's not unlike moving out of summer into the fall here in Arizona, but magnified beyond our imaginations. We've been doing some heavy, but important Biblical lifting in this mini-series. You've done a great job of hanging in there. If you missed the message this weekend you can hear it on our website at www.faceofgrace.org. Hit the listen link and follow the prompts. You can also catch it on the podcast, also noted on the homepage.
Children's ministry now has a blog to share thoughts
and information regarding raising our children in a loving, caring,
Christian manner. Check it out at www.cogkids.blogspot.com.
G-votions Week #33: August 10-16
Here are the daily devotions for Week # 33: August 10th - 16th.
This weekend we continue our two part look at Hell. If you weren't with us last Sunday, you will want to take a listen to the message as it helps lay the foundation for what we will focus on this week. Go to www.faceofgrace.org and hit the listen link. Follow the directions from there. You can also get the podcast. Details on our homepage.
For those of you who weren’t with us this past weekend and are
wondering what you missed by way of the big campus update, you no
longer need to feel left out. The following is a brief recap of what I
shared on Sunday (if you’ve not read parts 1 and 2 of this update, go
to www.faceofgrace.org to get up to speed):
In last week’s update I shared some of the external things that had changed over the last several weeks that have prompted a re-thinking or re-focusing or right-focusing of our campus (go to our website for the update if you missed it—www.faceofgrace.org). At the end I mentioned the gnawing sense I had that the campus we were designing was going to ultimately make for a great, but busy and overly complex mission.
Few things energize and/or de-energize a congregation more than
building projects. In more than 24 years of ministry I’ve had the
chance to talk with several pastors over the years who have been
involved in building projects. I’ve learned that some projects rally
the congregation. Others tear apart congregations.
